A major announcement was just made regarding a Boston Bruins goaltender after he has been playing lights out.

Earlier in the year two players in the Boston Bruins organization were named to the 2025 American Hockey League All-Star Game with one of them being goaltender Michael DiPietro.

This season, DiPietro has outplayed Brandon Bussi, who has become a fan favourite in the Boston Bruins organization, and has undoubtedly earned this opportunity to go to the All-Star Game.

Michael DiPietro has appeared in 21 games this season for the Providence Bruins and has a 13-5-3 record, with a .927 save percentage, and a 2.04 goals against average.

With these numbers DiPietro is putting up, he has been one of the top goaltenders this year in the American Hockey League.

Something that is super encouraging for the Boston Bruins organization and fans, is the fact that DiPietro's play is not slowing down at all. During his last game against the Syracuse Crunch on January 15th, he made 37 out of 39 saves in a win.

In seven of his last eight games, DiPietro has had a .912 save percentage or better, including a 21 save shutout against the Hartford Wolf Pack on December 20th.

As of now, the Bruins are rocking a tandem of Jeremy Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo as their goaltenders, but there has been some discussions that with how much workload Jeremy Swayman is getting, they don't need Korpisalo and a trade could happen.

If this does happen, DiPietro more than likely would be the next goaltender up, and could be the future of the team if he can consistently play like he has been.

Do you think the Boston Bruins should trade Korpisalo and call up DiPietro as the backup to Jeremy Swayman?
