Is there really going to be a point where GM Don Sweeney has deceived us all and trades Brad Marchand after signing him?

It seems according to one NHL Insider Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports told Kyper & Bourne that he wouldn't rule out a Marchand trade in the future.
If that is true, the Bruins are preparing to be sellers come March, and we could see significant movement from an original-six team that plays its cards close to their chest.
"I believe that if they're sellers... What's going to happen with their captain Brad Marchand? I won't rule out the possibility that Brad Marchand won't finish the season with the Boston Bruins, even though he doesn't want to go anywhere."

Lavoie would expand on that though, as he felt that the Oilers would be a great fit for the Bruins captain.
Let's say the Oilers are calling for Brad Marchand. What do the Bruins do? And if you're Marchand, what do you do? You have a chance to go win a Stanley Cup in Edmonton with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl? C'mon.. I'm pumped just thinking about it!
Whether or not it will become true is one thing, speculation is another. And it seems that's all Lavoie has to go on at the moment, as we've seen Marchand shut down even Elliotte Friedman in the past.
If you think things through Marchand will fill a void that forward Evander Kane has left in Edmonton.
His tenacity and agitation on the ice is something the Oilers could utilize in deep playoff runs, and let's not discount his production.
What could the Oilers offer? They don't own their first-round pick in the 2025 Draft, but their 2026 and 2027 first-rounders are still there. Do they dare include top prospect Matthew Savoie in a package?

A Marchand trade would be costly for the Oilers, as they'd have to move off of significant prospects like Savoie, and a first-round pick at the least. That is a significant cost for a team that could end up failing to extend the captain as well.
"Like I said, Brad was laughing at all the rumors when we talked to him during the 4 Nations Face-Off," relayed Lavoie, "and he said 'I'm not going anywhere.' And that's totally understandable... But at the end of the day, is he going to be a Bruin next year? I'm not sure he's going to be a Bruin next year."

Or will this be a move that includes a sign-and-trade?
Marchand is in the final year of his eight-year $6.125 million dollar contract with the Bruins.
