A major development just surfaced after Jim Montgomery was hired on why he turned down multiple contract extensions from the Boston Bruins.

During Jim Montgomery's time with the Boston Bruins he was not allowed to bring in his own coaching staff.

For some reason, General Manager Don Sweeney would not allow Jim Montgomery to have his own coaching staff.

Instead Don Sweeney went out himself and found a coaching staff for Montgomery that he thought would do well.

Many believe that this was a big reason the Boston Bruins and Jim Montgomery were not able to come to an agreement on a contract.

It was reported that Jim Montgomery turned down multiple offers from the Boston Bruins, and that this could be a massive reason on why.

Wonder if Monty will be allowed to bring in his own staff at some point either this season or this offseason. Know that was a big point of contention in his negotiations with Boston

People feel like this may also be a reason he signed with the St. Louis Blues.

There is speculation that Montgomery will be allowed to bring in his own staff, whether it be this year or during the off-season.

It's unsure but people believe this is a reason he ended up signing with the St. Louis Blues.

Montgomery also does still own a house in St. Louis, and this could be another reason as to why he decided to sign there.

The Blues are getting one of the best head coach's there is in the NHL.

Best of luck to Jim Montgomery and his family with the St. Louis Blues organization.
