The Boston Bruins have an issue, do they keep Brad Marchand or trade him as part of the retool we keep hearing about? If the Bruins do decide to move forward with it, the Captain could yield a good return.

The Boston Bruins have an existential crisis to handle, as the team could move on from Captain Brad Marchand.

Marchand is one of the last remaining Bruins from the 2011 Stanley Cup run and has been with the team since 2009.

His impact on the team can't even be understated, as he's grown from a bottom-six forward, to a top-six star.

If the Bruins are looking to get the best haul possible, it might be a good idea to consider moving him, according to the Bruins Network.

This season Marchand has played 47 games with the Bruins and scored 37 points( 17 G, 20 A).

To give you an idea of the rich return the team could get for Marchand, he's one from Bleacher Nation earlier this season.

Landing Marchand could cost the Avalanche a promising young forward such as Calum Ritchie or Ivan Ivan or a prospect like defenseman Mikhail Gulyayev. The Bruins could seek their 2026 first-rounder in the deal or one of their second-rounders.

By all means, it'd be a painful day if we come to the realization that Brad Marchand himself is expendable.

It's not a transaction to be taken lightly and would put many fans off of the current front office, but given their track record who loves them? Given Neely, and Sweeney's current M.O. it's to pass the buck, given the fact since 2019, they've built teams that weren't capable of winning a Stanley Cup.

The tough decisions must be made, and Marchand could end up on the trade block if March rolls around and they're not playoff contenders.
