After finally snapping their six game losing streak to the Florida Panthers on Saturday, the Boston Bruins seem to be making some changes to the teams roster as they just placed a surprising player on the waiver wire today.
An announcement was just made from PuckPedia on X revealing that the Boston Bruins have placed 25-year-old Marc McLaughlin on the waiver wire.
Along with McLaughlin, the Vancouver Canucks have also placed Erik Brannstrom on the waiver wire today, both being made available for free to all 31 other teams in the NHL.
From PuckPedia:
Marc McLaughlin has been healthy scratched by the Bruins a lot this year but has appeared in 12 games, and has 2 goals along with a minus-1 on the season.
This indicates that either the Boston Bruins are set to make another move ahead of their rematch against the Tampa Bay Lightning, or that Mark Kastelic will be returning to the Bruins lineup after suffering an injury in their previous game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.
Mark Kastelic was injured Thursday against Tampa after being cross-checked in the face by Emil Lilleberg in the final couple seconds of their 4-1 loss.
Kastelic would go on to miss the Bruins practice on Friday, and interim head coach Joe Sacco revealed that he was going to be day-to-day and a game time decision for their matchup against the Florida Panthers.
Unfortunately for the Bruins, Kastelic did not end up dressing for the game against the Florida Panthers, and Marc McLaughlin ended up taking his roster spot.
