With news of Jim Montgomery's firing rocking the newswire of NHL-based media across the league, there's more trouble on the horizon for the Bruins.

That is that the fans are fed up with the organization, and have decided to put their money where their mouth is. Instead of giving it away and trusting the organization, it's headed back into their pockets.

Bruins fans have decided to end a 15-year record on Monday night which saw the team lose 5-1 to the bottom-dwelling Columbus Blue Jackets.

A Blue Jackets team that in the past has had to fight for every inch of the ice if you remember the 2019 Stanley Cup playoff series.

The event wouldn't sell out and 300 tickets would be left over, as the sellout streak going on since 2009 has ended.

GM Don Sweeney dismissed head coach Jim Montgomery from his position on Tuesday, just 18 months after Montgomery won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's top coach. It was an unpopular move with fans who have been calling for Sweeney's head on a platter since the offseason. Ditto for President Cam Neely. It's clear that fans have a distrust for the management of this team and they're making their voices heard both online and at the cash register.

The sellout streak has officially ended at game 628 for the team, which honestly is a great record.

But with an 8-9-3 record, and a team in the dumpster, how else can fans communicate to management who isn't receptive to criticism?

Considering how expensive tickets are, which price out a lot of fans who can't afford to go to the game, this seems like a correct way of dealing with the situation.

Don't support a team or front office that can't put the best product on the ice, as Jeremy Jacobs has shown he's not interested in building a winning team in the last 5 years.

Keep in mind this is the same team who had a public spat with their starting goalie, the front office from here looks like an ivory tower.

Maybe it's not just the players or coach, maybe it's Don Sweeney, Cam Neely, and Jeremy Jacobs.

"Sell the team, Bob."
