Boston Bruins superstar David Pastrnak has finally spoken out on the firing of head coach Jim Montgomery.
The Boston Bruins decided to cancel practice on Tuesday following an embarrassing 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
There was a lot of speculation on why practice was canceled, but it wasn't until later that the Boston Bruins revealed the actual reason, and the speculation was right.
The speculation was that the Boston Bruins were going to fire Jim Montgomery, and that's exactly what happened.
There were rumours about it early in the day, but it wasn't until later in the evening that the Bruins confirmed that Jim Montgomery was officially fired by the team.
Now David Pastrnak has spoken out on the move by the Boston Bruins.
Here is what he had to say:
It was known that Jim Montgomery was very liked in the Boston Bruins locker room, and that he had great personal connections with the players.
But many believed that Montgomery had lost the room within the Bruins organization, and that's what led to him being fired.
Bruins captain Brad Marchand said something similar earlier on when he broke the silence on the firing of Jim Montgomery.
Here is what the captain had to say:
It's unfortunate that the Bruins lost such a good coach due to players severely underperforming.
At the end of the day, the NHL is a business, and sadly head coach's are always the first ones to go, and are very rarely every protected.
Now Joe Sacco will make his coaching debut with the Boston Bruins tonight as they take on the Utah Hockey Club.
