As the NHL offseason continues to wind down, it appears one unrestricted free agent may have the Boston Bruins attention who happens to be former Oilers forward Kailer Yamamoto.

Having played for the Oilers and then moved to the Detroit Red Wings, Yamamoto was pegged to be a top six player after producing 26 points in 27 games during the 2019-2020 season. He then went on to have a down season the following year then bounced back in 2022 with twenty goals and 21 assists in 81 games.

It seems no matter which team he goes to he doesn't seemed to stick which could be an opportunity for the Bruins who are looking for secondary scoring in their offense. With the offence fairly depleted after their first line, the Bruins could use a player like Yamamoto as he could be signed for a low cost below $2,000,000 a season.

His last deal with Seattle was a one year $1.5 million deal and having played 59 games last year he only scored eight goals with eight assists for 16 points with only 11 minutes and 59 seconds of average ice time.

It's likely if general manager Don Sweeney were to take a chance with him on a one year deal he would be on a team that is far better offensively than the Seattle Kraken.

It remains to be seen if he were to try him out and it's likely a PTO could come his way as well.
