Boston Bruins newest Big Z issues an important statement to Bruins fans
The Boston Bruins are finding their teeth again, as they signed bruiser, Nikita Zadarov in free-agency, to a six-year, $30 M contract.
The Bruins held an interview with the newly acquired defenseman and many topics were covered, including his nickname which many affectionally called him "Big Z".
He would immediately shut that down, as he didn't wanna disrespect Zdeno Chara who held the beloved nickname prior to his arrival in Boston.
Zadarov is himself, a big fan of Chara and out of respect doesn't want that name to belong to anyone, but the former Captain and Stanley Cup winner.
All the while, Zadarov sung the praises of new teammate, Charlie McAvoy, whom he could find himself paired with soon:
"With Charlie, I've been watching him a lot," Zadorov said. "He's one of my favorite D-man in the league, for sure. The way he plays, he's got some grit. When he hits open-ice hits, I think that will fit well with me. He played unbelievably in the Toronto series. It was definitely fun to watch."
