Boston Bruins sent Derek Forbort to Providence
Today, the boss of the Boston Bruins, Don Sweeney, had some news to share about defenseman Derek Forbort. Forbort, who's 32, is going to Providence for some extra training.
This season, Forbort played 35 games for Boston.
He helped with four goals and did well in defense. He's a big guy at 6-foot-4 and 216 pounds. In his whole NHL career, he played nearly 500 games and got 95 points.
Forbort is from Duluth, Minnesota. He was picked by the Los Angeles Kings in 2010.
Derek Forbort to Report to Providence on LTI Conditioning Loan
This move shows that the team wants Forbort to get back in top shape before playing more games. Fans are excited to see him back on the ice with the Bruins after his time in Providence.
