Brad Marchand's Boston Bruins are 4th in the Atlantic Division, as he is in the Captain's chair for 2024-2025.

Marchand hit an all-time low during his career in 2024-2025, as the Bruins continued disappointing fans and coaching staff alike.

The lack of production from the Captain is part and parcel of why they're 8-8-3, 4th in the Atlantic, and have a -17 goal differential.

Marchand's shooting percentage may be part of the problem:

Before the game against the Blues, he was shooting at 9.1%

This season the Bruins' Marchand has 13 points, on five goals and eight assists. Marchand takes 3.1 shots per game, converting 9.1% of them, with a plus-minus rating of -2.

So, it sounds like Marchand may be experiencing a decline in production which could be due to multiple factors. The biggest is that he's playing like he's experienced three surgeries during the offseason.

Also, it could be a factor of father time catching up to the former Stanley Cup champion.

Let's be honest, Marchand has risen in the ranks due to efforts and went from a bottom-six forward, to someone on the perfection line.

This could be a slump, or it could be something that is bound to happen to someone who is age 36 and is in the 16th year of his career.

The lack of good line partners is a good variable to consider, as arguably Don Sweeney hasn't done a great job of providing the Bruins with a chance to go far this postseason.

Marchand has 13 points(5 G, 8 A) in 19 games with the Bruins this season and went scoreless against the St. Louis Blues.

The Bruins are in an existential crisis at this point in their season. What will change?

Shooting percentages fluctuate, so this could change for the Captain soon, we hope.
