Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery has provided an encouraging update on Mark Kastelic after leaving their previous game injured.

Boston Bruins forward Mark Kastelic ended up leaving their previous game against the St. Louis Blues with a lower-body injury.

It's still unclear what exactly happened, but during the game the Bruins made a statement stating Kastelic would not return.

UPDATE: Mark Kastelic (lower-body) will not return to today's game.

Now Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery just provided an encouraging update regarding Kastelic's status.

Jim Montgomery announced on Sunday that Mark Kastelic will only be out day-to-day.

Montgomery says Kastelic is day-to-day.

This is a very encouraging update, especially considering the Bruins have been struck with the injury bug recently.

In the span of just a week and a half, the Boston Bruins have lost two defenseman, and two forwards.

One of the forwards was not due to an injury though, as Tyler Johnson had left the team due to a family matter.

The other three players were due to injures in Andrew Peeks, Mark Kastelic, and Hampus Lindholm.

Although the Boston Bruins are reportedly set to get Andrew Peeke back relatively soon.

On Sunday, Peeke was a full participant during Bruins practice and Montgomery stated that he will be back in game action soon.

Tyler Johnson is also officially back with the team, returning to them today during practice.
