Jeremy Swayman's contract situation is getting out of hand, and recent comments from Brad Marchand has made this situation a lot worse.
Training camp for the Boston Bruins is right around the corner and the Bruins have still yet to sign their starting goaltender to a new contract, and he still remains a restricted free agent.
Boston Bruins management believe that a deal will get done before the start of training camp, but reports have suggested that Jeremy Swayman is looking for $9.5-$10 million on his next contract, and it has been reported that the Bruins have been offering him around $6-$6.5 million.
If this is true they are both way off, and who knows if a contract will be signed before training camp. Some good news is that Jeremy Swayman was on the ice for the Boston Bruins captains practice last week at Warrior Ice.
Brad Marchand was asked about Jeremy Swayman's situation, and although he didn't sound worried that Swayman is still without a contract, the lack of positivity and enthusiasm had fans worried that a deal isn't as close as some have reported it to be.
Jim Montgomery did not want to speak on the situation between the Bruins management and Jeremy Swayman.
The Boston Bruins are still hopeful that a deal will get done with Jeremy Swayman, but if they are still far apart, it may be awhile before one gets signed.
