Bruins Recall Goaltender on Emergency Basis
After an injury scare to Linus Ullmark on Tuesday night, the Boston Bruins announced they have recalled a goalie on an emergency basis.
As per Bruins' PR:
BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, April 12, that the team has recalled goaltender Brandon Bussi from Providence on an emergency basis.
NHL Debut on the Horizon?
Boston will travel to face the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday evening and Linus Ullmark will not be making the trip. Meaning Bussi will either back up Jeremy Swayman or make his NHL debut. With the single-season points and wins records already achieved, it would almost be surprising if Jim Montgomery didn't get him his first start in the big leagues.
Bussi, 24, was voted an AHL All-Star this season, putting up a 21-5-4 record with a 2.38 GAA, .925 SV% and one shutout.
