The Bruins historic season could be attributed to many things. Bergeron and Krejci signing bargain bin deals, major acquisitions, even depth pieces performing well. Perhaps none were just as important as Linus Ullmark's outstanding performances all season long, and it's paying off in an incredible way!
The Vezina Trophy is awarded annually to the league's best goaltender, and Linus Ullmark has certainly made a case for himself this season. The Swedish goalie posted a stat-line of 40 wins, 6 losses, and 1 overtime loss. With a save percentage of .938 and a goals against average of 1.89 to go on top of that, Ullmark has a seriously good shot at securing the Vezina this year.
Whoever wins the award will be an incredibly deserving goalie, as all three posted outstanding seasons. That being said, we're pulling for Ullmark here at Bruins Insider.
