Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco has announced some big roster changes ahead of their game against the Edmonton Oilers.

Heading into their game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Boston Bruins made a surprising decision to let go two time Stanley Cup Champion Tyler Johnson as they placed him on waivers with purpose of contract termination.

The Boston Bruins in the off-season signed Tyler Johnson to a PTO contract, and he wouldn't sign an actual deal with the team until November 4th, but would only appear in 9 games with the Boston Bruins.

With this move the Bruins made today, opened up some room, and now Oliver Wahlstrom is expected to make his debut according to head coach Joe Sacco.

Joe Sacco stated that Oliver Wahlstrom will make his debut on a line with Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic.

With this, Mark Kastelic now goes down to the fourth line with Johnny Beecher, and Marc McLaughlin and Cole Koepke will become a healthy scratch for the Boston Bruins tonight.

From Joe Sacco:

Oliver Wahlstrom will make his #Bruins debut tonight playing with Charlie Coyle and Trent Frederic. Mark Kastelic shifts to fourth line with Johnny Beecher and Marc McLaughlin. Jeremy Swayman gets the net.

The Boston Bruins will be looking to make it three straight wins tonight after having solid games against the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames espically after their first two games on this road trip against the Winnipeg Jets and Seattle Kraken.

Puck drop is scheduled for 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
