The Boston Bruins put up a good fight last night when they faced off in an Original Six matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but it ultimately was not enough. The Bruins fought to comeback into the game after being down 5-3 in the third period, but would end up losing 6-4 after the Leafs scored two empty net goals.
Jeremy Swayman who appeared in his fourth straight start allowed some weak goals, and still did not look like himself. He finished the game stopping 23 of the 27 shots he faced allowing four games, and had a 4.21 goals against average with a .852 save percentage.
Entering tonight it is likely going to be Joonas Korpisalo starting for the Boston Bruins, but the interesting lineup decision is the face Joe Sacco keeps on playing Trent Frederic even after how bad he has been.
Frederic finally broke his 11 game pointless streak after scoring a goal last night for the Bruins, but his play has been terrible, and he looks lost out there centering the Bruins third line.
Fans have been calling for the Bruins to call up Matt Poitras to center the Bruins third line, but it seems like Joe Sacco and management are content with how bad Frederic has been playing.
