The Boston Bruins now officially lead the NHL in one of the most embarrassing stats and it's been a problem for them.

It is now official, the Boston Bruins are officially leading the league in the most minor penalties in the entire league, and this has been a big problem for them this year.

After last night's game against the New York Rangers, the Bruins surprisingly only took one penalty, and it was at the hands of David Pastrnak, who ended up taking a high sticking penalty while the Bruins were on a power play.

With this penalty that David Pastrnak took, the Bruins now officially lead the league in the most minor penalties taken this year.

Bruins have taken the most minor penalties in the league.

At least they're first in something!!!

The Boston Bruins have 425 penalty minutes this year, and Mark Kastelic and Nikita Zadorov have combined for 152 of the 425 penalty minutes this year.

According to ESPN both Kastelic and Zadorov are tied for first in the NHL with 76 penalty minutes each.

The next closest Boston Bruins player is Charlie McAvoy who sits 18th in the league with 44 penalty minutes this year.

The Bruins have been a very undisciplined team this year, and it's costed them games.

The Bruins sit 31st in the league for average penalty minutes a game with an average of 10.7 in just 40 games.

Not to mention their penalty kill is ranked 25th in the entire league which has also been a big problem.
