That doesn't mean the Bruins are out of the free agency and trade talks picture though, especially after a key Calgary Flame is set to test free agency:
In just the past couple days a lot of buzz has surrounding the Calgary Flames, after multiple players want out of Calgary.
Frank Servalli, Daily Faceoff insider said, Calgary recently made a big pitch, and basically offered whatever Elias Lindholm wants in order for him to re-sign.
Servalli added that the Flames are still waiting on a response from Elias Lindholm and his agent, he hasn't given a complete answer yet. The general consensus points to him not re-signing w/ CGY, and will test free agency on July 1.
The centerman will be turning 29 come this December, so he has already cemented himself in the league and could be a great addition in Boston. He would fit well into the Bruins current core and may give a solid 4-6 years in either an original bridge-deal or a long-term extension + 50% retention this season, it could really help the Bruins.
Elias Lindholm is coming off a 64 point season after the year prior with 82 in 82 games played. At the age of 28, Lindholm has stayed fairly healthy in the later stages of his career and is still a 50+ point player, which could add to the Bruins depth.
In 743 career games has 203 goals paring it with 310 assists, for a total of 513 points. He has played a max of five seasons with both of his respected clubs, so five years seems to be his limit which could be perfect for the Boston Bruins.
