During his segment of reviewing the summer of each NHL team, Friedman explained that he heard that Ryan Whitney of the Spittin Chiclets stated a contract offer of four years at $6.2 million was sent to Swayman which he confirmed was true.
Friedman also reported of two other numbers including the $10 million per year offer that was floating around the web over the past couple of days and a more likely offer from the Swayman camp of $9.5 million per season modeled by the Charlie McAvoy contract.
Swayman feels that he has what it takes to be the starting goaltender for the Bruins for the foreseeable future and be paid accordingly as he stated during an interview last week. He explained that he is a business student from the University of Maine and has studied and continues to do courses from Stanford on the business side of the NHL. With this knowledge, he feels his value is justified.
With the numbers showing that general manager Don Sweeney along with Swayman's agent Lewis Gross are far apart on a settlement, it's likely this will remain a stalemate for the coming weeks and odds are he will not participate in training camp.
Bruins fans continue to wait and watch to see if anything will transpire.
