The amount of money the NHL is going to give Johnny Gaudreau's widow has been revealed

The amount of money that Johnny Gaudreau's widow, Meredith Gaudreau is going to get from the NHL was just revealed.

Meredith Gaudreau lost her husband, and NHL player Johnny Gaudreau from a drunk driver just over a week ago. With everything going on some information has surfaced around the National Hockey Leagues insurance policy and how much Meredith Gaudreau is going to receive.

Reports have revealed that Meredith Gaudreau will receive one year worht of Johnny Gaudreau's salary at $9.75 million and will also receive an extra million dollars on top of that.

It's possible that she receives more then this as well if they have their own life insurance policy.

This is what section 23.6 of the collective barganing agreement states following a players death:

23.6 (c) In the event of the death of a Player, the Player's spouse at the time of the Player's death shall have the right to elect continuation of coverage for her lifetime, provided that the Player would have otherwise qualified for such continuation under Sections 23.6(a) or b.

This is such a horrible situation for Meredith to be in, and our prayers are with her during this time.
