Last night saw the Anaheim Ducks, and Detroit Red Wings faceoff against each other, when a top trade candidate for the Boston Bruins was involved in a dirty hit that could lead to a big suspension from the league.

Fans are transitioning from best on best hockey, back to watching regular NHL games, and although it isn't the same, last night saw an action-packed game between the Ducks and Red Wings that was highlighted by a controversial hit from Ducks forward Trevor Zegras.

Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen was skating through the neutral zone, and dumped the puck into the Ducks zone, when he was blinded sided by a hit from Trevor Zegras directly to the head.

This hit would cause Rasmussen to miss the rest of the game.

The Ducks were trailing the Red Wings 4-2 with a few minutes remaining in the second period, and Zegras was trying to get some momentum for his team, but landed a dirty hit.

This hit has sparked some controversy as there was no call on the play.

Here is the clip of the hit:

NHL Insider Reveals Zegras To Face Discipline From The League

NHL insider Frank Seravalli announced today that the NHL is going to hold Zegras accountable for his actions last night:

Expecting a hearing with @NHLPlayerSafety for #FlyTogether Trevor Zegras for his hit on #LGRW Michael Rasmussen on Sunday.

Clear cut hit to the head which went uncalled by on-ice officials.

This year, Trevor Zegras has been involved in a lot of trade rumours, and the Boston Bruins have been a team that has been linked to him.

This is not a good look for him at all.
