Yesterday, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney confirmed that the Boston Bruins will be without Hampus Lindholm for the remainder of the year and now they are expected to make a shocking move with him.
Things have not going good for the Boston Bruins this year regarding their defense. They lost Hampus Lindholm back in November, and Charlie McAvoy has been in and out of the lineup dealing with injuries.
Recently, McAvoy was admitted to the hospital as Team USA was gearing up for their final game of the tournament before the 4 Nations final, and Charlie McAvoy had to miss due to the injury he suffered.
One positive has come out of this situation as the Bruins are expected to make a surprising move with Hampus Lindholm.

With Lindholm being out for the remainder of the year, and being on LTIR, the Bruins may take advantage of this situation.
Today a fan revealed that the Bruins may become a cap space broker to acquire some extra pics at the NHL trade deadline, and could also call up some top prospects and have them play the remainder of the year with the Bruins.
You can also be a cap space broker for picks with Hampus on LTIR. Post deadline you should also have Merkulov, Lysell, Max Jones and Wahlstrom playing every game in the NHL. A Boston Bruins insider backed this up and stated that this is something the Bruins can do at the trade deadline as they will have $5.7 million in cap space with Lindholm being out.
This is a really good point, and something that wasn't previously on the table. If Lindholm is out for the year, the Bruins have $5.7M in cap space and could be a third-party broker in a trade (retain some salary in exchange for a draft pick).
