With the 4 Nations Face-Off finally concluded, it appears the Boston Bruins and Don Sweeney have re-directed their attention to the needs of Captain Brad Marchand.

As Team Canada and Brad Marchand have secured the first Four Nations Face-Off champion, the Bruins look to other priorities.

The first, is Captain Brad Marchand who still doesn't have a contract extension in place with the Bruins.

According to GM Don Sweeney, that is the first piece of business the team will attend to as negotiations begin.

While Sweeney mentions that negotiations have been ongoing all year, it seems they haven't finalized a deal that will keep him in the spoked-B long term.

Could this be the realization of it?

The Bruins have benefitted from a contract with Marchand that has been team-friendly paying him $6.125 million over the last eight years.

Now with that deal expiring, there was speculation that'd he be traded if his camp and the Bruins couldn't come to an agreement.

It seems with the conclusion of the 4NFO, that the Bruins intend on keeping a piece of the old guard.

This season in 58 games with the Bruins he's scored 45 points (20 G, 25 A) and was a part of the Canadian team who won the 4NFO.

What better way to come off of the break than with a victory over Team USA underneath your belt?

He should ride this momentum into the postseason, and try to drive the Bruins into the best spot possible to finish the year.

With the hope, that a new contract will arrive before free agency takes place.
