Ex-Bruin Linus Ullmark took a shot at the Bruins after beating them with his new team

The Boston Bruins traded Linus Ullmark for Mark Kastelic, a 2024 1st round pick, now Dean Letourneau, and Joonas Korpisalo.

The sad story of it all is, that after Ullmark's exit the Bruins have gotten significantly worse. Even with the addition of Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm. The team isn't the same squad from 2023-2024, that's to be expected with free-agency yearly.

However, sometimes you into situations where you "coulda, woulda, and shoulda" and Ullmark didn't hold back harsh words about his former team.

«I wouldn't say we accomplished anything,» Ullmark said after the Senators' 3-2 overtime win over the Bruins on Saturday night. «We didn't win, and that's always gonna bother me. I really thought we had opportunities to do it. So, I'm gonna bring with me those feelings, thoughts (and) emotions into this locker room and strive to become better and learn from my mistakes.»

The Bruins would be consistent with Ullmark in the net, as they made the playoffs each season he was with the team.

But they never made it past the 2nd round and were summarily bounced from the playoffs both times by the Florida Panthers.

Ullmark would only make one appearance during the playoffs, and Jeremy Swayman would emerge the teams new #1 goalie afterward.

«In my mind, I see myself as a lot better goaltender, to be quite frank,» he said. «Something that I've learned throughout the ways with the type of leadership we have throughout this organization is how to handle yourself as a professional, but also as a human being. So, I carry that with me.»

However, in Ottawa, it seems Ullmark hasn't fared any better than his predecessor Joonas Korpisalo.

In eight games with the Senators, he has a 3-4-0 record, with a 2.87 GAA, and a .890 save percentage.

The Senators have used 17 starting goalies since their last Stanley Cup Playoffs appearance in 2017 and could be a key factor in helping Ottawa get back to the postseason. Ullmark called Saturday's victory against his former team a «statement» win, and he played a big role in helping the Senators to victory with a tremendous save on Elias Lindholm in overtime that ultimately led to Brady Tkachuk scoring the game-winner.

That's a massive amount of shade coming from Linus Ullmark who hasn't moved on from a team that left him long ago.

Perhaps, now would be the time for him to turn on the afterburners and prove he can be a #1 goalie in Ottawa.

But it seems like that won't be the case anytime soon.
