Longtime NHL goalie Anton Khudobin has a new chapter ahead, having signed with Sokol Krasnoyarsk of the VHL, Russia's second-tier league. This move appears to mark the conclusion of Khudobin's NHL journey. While not entirely unexpected, it's noteworthy considering Khudobin's limited NHL appearances in recent times. During the past two seasons, he played in just 10 games.

The 2022-23 season saw him appear in a single game for the Chicago Blackhawks, where he faced 23 shots and allowed six goals.

Despite facing challenges towards the end of his NHL career, Khudobin had a strong run as a dependable backup goaltender for the majority of his playing days. A standout moment was his crucial role in the Dallas Stars' deep 2020 Stanley Cup Playoff run, showcasing his impressive goaltending skills. However, the Stars narrowly missed out on capturing the Stanley Cup.

Across his 260 NHL games, which saw him don jerseys for the Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, and Chicago Blackhawks, Khudobin secured a record of 114 wins, 92 losses, and 33 ties, along with a .916 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average.
