Former Bruins Signs PTO With New Team

Forward Samuel Asselin, who spent the last four seasons with the Bruins AHL affiliate Providence, has found a new home for now. The undrafted Repentigny, Quebec, Canada native has signed a PTO deal with the New York Islanders.
Asselin never played for Boston and has yet to suit up for an NHL game, but he is looking to get another opportunity on the Island.
In 166 games with the Providence Bruins, he had 23 goals and 42 assists for 65 points. Asselin also played during the 2019-20 season in the ECHL for the Atlanta Gladiators, where he posted 26 goals and 26 assists for 52 points in 53 games.
