Things are not looking good for Hampus Lindholm after he was originally given a six week timeline to return to the Bruins lineup after suffering a lower-body injury.
Ahead of the Bruins game on Thursday against the New York Rangers, Bruins interim head coach Joe Sacco met with the media to discuss Hampus Lindholm's lower-body injury.
According to head coach Joe Sacco, Hampus Lindholm has yet to skate even though it is past the six week timeline he was originally given.
It's been almost two months since Hampus Lindholm was injured after blocking a shot off his knee from Justin Faulk in the Bruins road win over the St. Louis Blues on November 12th.
The Bruins are feeling the effect of not having another solid puck-moving defenseman in the lineup like Hampus Lindholm even though they have improved since Joe Sacco took over as interim head coach in November.
Lindholm was called out a lot for his down season he had last year, but to begin this year he was arguably the Bruins best and most consistent player throughout the first five-weeks of the 2024-25 season.
Although he only had three goals and seven points in 17 games he was also eating a lot of ice time averaging 20:51 of ice time per game, and was super reliable for the Bruins.
Lindholm was promoted to the Bruins top power play unit the same game he was injured and never got the chance to. The Bruins felt like this change could desperalty help their power play which sits 30th in the league this year with a 13%.
Since Lindholm has been injured, the Bruins have been rotating Jordan Oesterle and Parker Wotherspoon.
