It looks like the Panthers are turning to the 'If you can't beat them, hurt them'' tactic when it comes to their series with the Boston Bruins.
The worst of it started after the buzzer went to end the first period, as Matthew Tkachuk caught Garnett Hathaway with a cross check to the lower back.
Suspension Worthy?
The impact was so hard that Tkachuk's stick breaks in half, and Hathaway fell to the ice in visible pain.
Not only that, but one fan on Twitter pointed out that Sam Bennett took a cheap shot on the Bruins forward as he was laying on the ice.
See below:
Tkachuk was given a two-minute minor for the cross-check and Boston made him pay with a power play goal to go up 2-0. Bennett was not given a penalty on the play.
Thankfully, Hathaway returned to the bench to start the second period, which could be the only thing saving Tkachuk from further discipline from the NHL.
