Jack Edwards was not a fan favourite around the league, and was known for being controversial, but he was a fan favourite to Boston Bruins fans, and has become a legend in the city of Boston, and on Sunday he showed the hockey world exactly why.
The Boston Bruins honoured Jack Edwards before their game on Sunday against the Seattle Kraken, but one of the bigger takeaways is a message he shared when he returned to the Boston Bruins booth for what will more than likely be his last time.
During his time in the booth against the Karken, Jack Edwards was asked why he thinks he resonated so well with the Boston Bruins fans, and the response he gave left many emotional. Jack Edwards stated that it was just his love that he had for the team that helped him get to where he did with the team for so many years.
It was clear that Jack Edwards was having some problems with his speech, which is the reason that he decided to step away from the Boston Bruins booth in the first place, but it made the message that much more emotional, especially considering the fact he has been the voice of the Boston Bruins for such a long time.
Here is the clip of Jack Edwards message:
There will never be another Jack Edwards, as he is definitely a one of a kind even though many fans around the league were not a fan of him.
