Boston Bruins general manager revealed Jim Montgomery's fate with the Boston Bruins heading forward.

Yesterday was the beginning of training camp for the Boston Bruins, and instead of having players on the ice, Don Sweeney held a press conference to speak with the media about the Boston Bruins team.

During his press conference he brought up the fact that Jim Montgomery is entering his final year on his contract as the Boston Bruins head coach, and Sweeney confirmed his fate with the team heading forward.

Sweeney and Montgomery have reportedly been in talks about getting a contract extension done, but there isn't anything official yet.

Montgomery spoke on the fact as well and stated that not having a contract will not change how he coaches the Bruins this year.

Don Sweeney also said he's been in discussions w/Jim Montgomery on a contract extension, but nothing to announce at this point. Montgomery said it won't impact his coaching style whether or not there's a deal in place prior to the season, believed to be the last year of his deal

Although nothing is official, it seems like the Bruins respect Jim Montgomery, and like the way he runs the team, and seems like even though nothing is official now, a deal will be in place soon.
