Tuesday, Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand was making his debut against the Philadelphia Flyers, but it didn't last long for the captain. Brad Marchand played just over four minutes before leaving the game and not returning.
Thankfully, him leaving didn't have to do with any of the surgeries he underwent during the off-season. The Boston Bruins revealed on X that it was unlikely that Brad Marchand would return to the game due to an illness.
Today Jim Montgomery revealed that there were two players who would not be playing tonight. One would be Matthew Poitras as according to Jim Montgomery, he is out day-to-day with an injury, and the other being the captain, Brad Marchand who is still battling a illness, and Montgomery states the Bruins just want to be precautionary with it.
Making sure that Brad Marchand is healthy for opening night should be the Boston Bruins top priority, as they will be taking on the Stanley Cup Champions in the Florida Panthers on October 8th.
Do you think the Boston Bruins are doing the right thing holding Brad Marchand out?
