Charlie McAvoy has not been able to catch a break recently for the Boston Bruins. He recently just came back from an injury, and now it seems like he may be out for awhile.
Monday night Team USA's head coach Mike Sullivan revealed that Charlie McAvoy was going to miss their game against Team Sweden with an upper-body injury, but little did everyone know it was going to be worse.
Later on in the night on Monday, the team revealed that Charlie McAvoy was admitted to the Mass. General Hospital. There was no context given, but it was later revealed on Tuesday that McAvoy suffered an infection that stemmed from a minor injury.
Today Boston Bruins lead doctor, Dr. Peter Asnis revealed that Charlie McAvoy suffered an injury to his right should acromicolavicular joint during Team USA's first game against Finland on February 13th.
The good news on this is that Dr. Asnis revealed that McAvoy's condition is getting better.
Today, head coach Joe Sacco spoke on the McAvoy situation and fans should be worried.
Sacco revealed that he is doing better which is a nice sign, but revealed that McAvoy will probably be out for awhile as he stated "I wouldn't expect him in the short-term."
Take a look:
The Boston Bruins are not sitting in a favourable spot in the standings right now, 1 point out of a playoff spot, but every team has multiple games in hand on them.
Losing Charlie McAvoy for a long period of time could be the end of the season for the Boston Bruins.
Hopefully McAvoy can recover soon!
