The Boston Bruins' recent visit to Los Angeles held a special significance for defenseman Derek Forbort. It was a return to familiar territory for the 31-year-old, who kickstarted his NHL career with the LA Kings. Forbort had spent five seasons with the Kings after they selected him as the 15th overall pick in the 2010 draft.

Upon the Bruins' arrival at Crypto.com Arena, Forbort was greeted by several former teammates, including fellow blueliner Drew Doughty. In a pre-game exchange, Doughty couldn't resist some light-hearted chirping, teasing Forbort about wearing his helmet during warm-ups, a comment that Forbort later shared with reporters.

However, when the final buzzer sounded, it was Forbort who had the last laugh in his old stomping grounds. The seasoned defenseman played a pivotal role in the Bruins' victory over the Kings, contributing assists to two of their four goals and further solidifying Boston's flawless 4-0-0 record this season.

The Bruins will look to maintain their unblemished record in the second leg of a back-to-back when they face the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night. NESN's extensive coverage begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, and viewers have the opportunity to participate in the first "Predict the Game" contest of the centennial season for a chance to win exciting prizes.
