Despite the NHL being dominated by offense this season, the Boston Bruins were the best at consistently keeping the puck out of their net, and Linus Ullmark was the biggest reason.

Only the Sixth Goaltender Ever!

Ullmark, 29, paced all goaltenders this season in three significant categories: wins (40), GAA (1.89) and SV% (.938), also known as, the NHL's version of the Triple Crown.

The Bruins' netminder is just sixth all-time and fifth in the expansion era (1967-68) to do so, following:

2014-15: Carey Price (MTL)
1990-91: Ed Belfour (CHI)
1973-74: Bernie Parent (PHI)
1972-73: Ken Dryden (MTL).

The only goaltender to win the Triple Crown prior to the expansion era was a Canadiens legend, who actually accomplished it more than once. As per NHL Public Relations:

Jacques Plante also achieved the feat three times in the pre-expansion era (1961-62, 1958-59 and 1955-56, all w/ MTL).

* Technically, the Alexandar Georgiev of the Avalanche can tie Ullmark for the league lead in wins as Colorado finishes their regular season on Friday night. However, Georgiev was in net on Thursday when they visited the Winnipeg Jets.
