Major turn of events involving the Bruins and Jeremy Swayman contract talks
A major turn of events has surfaced involving contract talks between Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins.
The Bruins made some big acquistions yesterday to kick off free agency by signing Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm, picking up a solid and massive defenseman and also getting their number one center.
The Bruins still have another big move to make that involves locking up their starting goaltender Jeremy Swayman, and have just above $8 million to do so after the signings of Zadorov and Lindholm.
Don Sweeney the Boston Bruins general manager stated that Swayman is still the Bruins biggest priority and are trying to work out a deal with the goaltender still.
«We're going to continue to find a negotiated landing spot,» said Sweeney. «The timing is what it is. However long it takes, it's not impacted by what we did today. We're in a great spot to find the best-negotiated deal we can find for both sides.»
Swayman is slated to be the Boston Bruins number one goalie after taking over the starting role during the playoffs where he appeared in 12 out of 13 games for the Bruins and gave them a chance to win every game.
"It's a priority for us. We're going to continue to find a negotiated landing spot."

It is still yet to be determined what his contract will look like and who will be his backup going into next year, but stay tuned to find out when they finally agree on a new deal.
