The recent Game 7 between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs has set new viewership records, becoming the most-watched first-round game in NHL history across North America.

According to Front Office Sports, the game drew the highest NHL audience in the US in 12 years, with 3.24 million viewers on ABC, surpassing the previous records of 2012 and 2021.

Bruins-Maple Leafs Game 7 averaged 3.2 million viewers on ESPN.

It ranks as the most-watched First Round game since 2012 and the largest First Round Game 7 audience in NHL history.

In Canada, the game achieved remarkable viewership, becoming the most-watched NHL game ever on Sportsnet, reaching 51% of the Canadian population.

The league reported that overall, the game attracted 8.823 million viewers from CBC, SN, TVA Sports, and ABC combined.

This record-setting viewership sets a high bar as the playoffs progress, with the all-Canadian second-round matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks next in line.

This upcoming series, the first postseason meeting between the two since 1992, kicks off Wednesday night, promising potentially high viewership figures once again.
