According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic's name has been involved in quite a bit of trade chatter this year, and there has been a lot of teams interested in him.
Trent Frederic is set to be a unrestricted free agent after this year comes to an end, and there has been some big speculation that the Bruins could part ways with him if a extension is not in place between the two when the trade deadline comes around.
There are three teams the Bruins could make a deal with if they can't come to a contract agreement.
According to some reports, the St. Louis Blues who are now coached by former Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery have been connected to Trent Frederic. The Blues are looking to become more competitive and adding a tough player like Frederic could help them.
Trent Frederic is also a St. Louis native, which could play a big part in him wanting to go play for his home town team.
The New York Rangers are currently struggling big time, having lost three straight games, and seven of their last ten games. Heading into this season, the Rangers were considered a legit contender for the Stanley Cup, but as of now they aren't even in a playoff spot. Trent Frederic is definitely someone who could be on their radar that would make an impact.
The Rangers are also shopping Kaapo Kakko and Chris Kreider, both of which could be a return if a trade were to happen.
The Stars are reportedly looking for someone to replace Tyler Seguin who is set to be out long-term. The Dallas Stars don't have many gritty players, and they are set to be a true contender for the Stanley Cup this year, adding someone like Frederic to their roster would go a long way for them especially in the playoffs.
