David Pastrnak capped off a tremendous season by scoring 60 goals this season and he recently credited it to longtime teammate Brad Marchand.

60 Was the Plan All Along

Pasta notched the impressive milestone in dramatic fashion in Philadelphia on Sunday, where his third hat trick of the season helped the Bruins beat the Flyers 5-3.

And according to Pastrnak himself, scoring 60 goals this season wasn't particularly a fluke, per se. As he credited his latest milestone to some great advice from the veteran Marchand.

''There's one great point that actually [Marchand] told me like many, many years ago when I was young. He said, You always have to aim 10 goals higher than you think you can get.' '

'So, yeah, definitely I was aiming at 60. Wasn't really thinking that I will get there. Definitely special. It's one of many advice you get from the leaders like these guys that can help you moving forward.''

The Czech winger is having an MVP-calibre season with Boston, as he's reached new career highs in goals (60), assists (49) and points (109). Pastrnak also has a league leading 396 shots.

With just two games remaining in the Bruins' regular season, Pasta sits three points shy for the most single-season points in the past 30 years. Which is currently held by Adam Oates, who had 112 points in the 1993-94 season.
