Today in Boston a legends name has been resurfacing in Patrice Bergeron the former Bruins captain before deciding to call it a career after last years disappointing playoff performance.

The reason for Bergerons name resurfacing in Boston today is because on this day 11 years ago was the infamous playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In game 7 the Boston Bruins were down 4-1 in the third period, and ended up coming back to beat the Leafs 5-4 in overtime.

The overtime goal was scored by no one other than Patrice Bergeron himself, sending the Leafs home.

11 years ago today Patrice Bergeron scored in OT to beat the Leafs 5-4 from being down 4-1 in the 3rd

Patrice Bergeron's presence in the locker room is surely missed, and there were rumours that he may be coming back to Boston to play again but it doesn't seem like that will actually happen.
