In addition to the Bruins being the clear front runner of the entire NHL this season, there's one specific stat that proves they could be unbeatable in the playoffs.
Not only has Boston already broken, matched, or came very near, to several league records, but they've done it while beating the best.
Beat the Best, To Be the Best
#NHLBruins records against Eastern Conference teams currently in the playoff race:
CAR: 2-1
NJD: 2-0
TOR: 2-1
NYR: 3-0
TBL: 3-1
NYI: 3-0
PIT: 2-0
Overall: 17-3
The league should be terrified of the Bruins come playoff time!
Lead by captain Patrice Bergeron, this team has shown, time and time again, that they show up when it matters.
Seven of the Bruins 17 total losses have come at the expense of the Western Conference, while five have been at the hands of teams outside the postseason picture in the East.
The only thing to be somewhat worried about is that the only teams to beat Boston twice this season, are the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers. Both of whom, are fighting for the second Wild Card spot that would meet the Bruins in round one.
Who would you rather have the Bruins play in round one?
