Mathew Poitras has been raising eyebrows at Bruins training camp, which continued in Sunday night's first preseason game. The 19-year-old scored a power-play goal and added an assist as well.
Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery touched on the 2022 second-round pick after the game, saying it would be a "pleasant surprise" if he's able to crack the opening night roster
"It's a big challenge. Because it's a man's league out there. He didn't see any NHL tonight."
If Poitras doesn't earn an NHL roster spot, he'll be sent back to the Guelph Storm for his third season in the OHL. Last season, he had 95 points, including 79 assists in 63 games for the Storm.
