In a significant roster move, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney made an announcement on December 29, revealing the team's decision to recall forward Georgii Merkulov while simultaneously assigning forward Patrick Brown to Providence.

Merkulov, a 23-year-old standout, has been a force in Providence this season, featuring in 31 games and leading the team with an impressive 30 points, comprising 14 goals and 16 assists.

The Russian forward, standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 176 pounds, has showcased his skill in 106 career AHL games, accumulating 39 goals and 51 assists since his signing as a free agent in 2022.

On the other hand, Brown, a seasoned 31-year-old forward, has seen action in 10 games with Boston this season, contributing with one assist.

Additionally, he has played six games with Providence, notching one goal and one assist for two points. With 148 career NHL games under his belt, spanning various teams, Brown brings experience to the lineup, having been originally signed by Carolina as a free agent in 2014.
