The Boston Bruins were the best team in the NHL last year during the regular season. Unfortunately, they got hit with the Presidents Trophy curse and lost in the first round to the Florida Panthers.

The Bruins have also no doubt taken a dip this year, with multiple retirements and departures such as Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Tyler Bertuzzi, and more. However, Boston still looks strong.

This is what the DailyFaceoff predicts their forward lines to be on opening night:

Van Reimsdyk - Zacha - Pasternak
Marhcand - Coyle - DeBrusk
Lauko - Geeke - Frederic
Lucic - Boqvist - Greer

Van Reimsdyk in front of Marchand is certainly a choice. It's hard to imagine a world where the Bruins get worse and they put arguably their best player on the second line.

Two players who will have everyone's attention are Pavel Zacha and Charlie Coyle. With the retirements of Bergeron and Krejci, they have a lot of pressure on their shoulders to go out there and perform. Bruins' coach, Jim Montgomery, thinks they can live up to the expectations. Zacha showed a lot of light last year but his season got cut short due to injury. Hopefully he can pick up where he left off.

Don't count Boston out. Pasternak is a top 3 RW in the league, Marhcand is the best LW in the league, and Morgan Geeke could possibly break out. It's all going to depend whether the centers can get themselves together and step up to the plate.
