It was just confirmed on why the Boston Bruins had canceled their practice this morning.
The reason on why Bruins practice was canceled today was due to the team firing head coach Jim Montgomery.
Earlier today it was revealed that the Boston Bruins have relieved head coach Jim Montgomery of his job.
It's only safe to assume this was the exact reason on why practice was canceled this morning.
Jim Montgomery more then likely had a meeting with the Boston Bruins and upper management, and that's why a practice was not held today.
Associate Coach Joe Sacco will assume interim head coaching duties.
It seems like last night was the final straw for the Boston Bruins, and knew they had to make a change immediately.
The Boston Bruins had an embarrassing loss to one of the worst teams in the league, the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Bruins are supposed to be a more competitive team this year, but have been worse then last year, and losing 5-1 to the Blue Jackets was the final straw for management.
Montgomery will more then likely not be without a job for long, as he had a insane 120-41-43 record with the Boston Bruins.
It's sad to see such a good and winning head coach get fired from his job due to the team underperforming, but the head coach is always the first one to go.
Now if the Bruins keep on underperforming, it will be upper management who will be on the hot seat.
