During practice this morning it was revealed that Matt Poitras was set to be a healthy scratch for the Boston Bruins heading into their game tomorrow against the Blue.
Bruins fans were not happy with this move at all, and now they have announced that Matt Poitras is being assigned to the Providence Bruins.
The Boston Bruins are off to a terrible start to the season so far being just 7-7-2, 3rd in the Atlantic Division and 14th overall in the league.
Montgomery has been doing everything possible to make things work for the Boston Bruins, but the offence has not been there regardless of the different line combinations he has been throwing together after every single game.
After Matt Poitras was announced a healthy scratch, Jim Montgomery was asked about it and this is what he had to say:
Personally Matt Poitras has not been the problem for the Boston Bruins, even though he only has a 1-3-4 stat line on the year in 14 games, he has also only been playing bottom nine minutes, except for a couple games where he got to play with Marchand.
Sending Poitras down to the American Hockey League is a terrible move for the Bruins, he has honestly been one of their better players despite playing little minutes, and not really having the points to show for.
Do you think sending Matt Poitras down to the AHL Providence Bruins is a good move for the Bruins?
