David Pastrnak has opened up regarding a injury he suffered during the off-season and this may be why his play has been the way it is.

It is no surprise that David Pastrnak is not impressed with how his 2024-25 season has gone so far, and we may have found out why his play has been subpar.

Even though David Pastrnak has been struggling he is still leading the Boston Bruins in points with six goals, eight assists for 14 points. Pastrnak admitted that he feels like he is not doing enough to help the Bruins win.

A statement recently revealed on why David Pastrnak has been struggling after Pastrnak admitted that he suffered an injury in the off-season.

According to NHL writer Michael Langr this is what happened:

«I was injured for a month and a half in the summer,» Pastrnak said in an article published in Czech and translated into English.

«Not so much physically, because then there was still a lot of time, but the problem was mainly mental. Because in the summer, I normally prepare for the season, and I haven't been injured for so long.

«And mentally, it's hard when you can't work for a month and a half at this stage nothing to do. But I feel better and better with each match.»

WEEI's Scott McLaughlin revealed that Pastrnak would not reveal what injury he suffered, but apparently it happened after the World Championship.

«I had a couple of bruises and bumps during the summer that I couldn't train for a little bit, so I had to take a couple of weeks off,» Pastrnak told McLaughlin during Bruins' training camp in September.

«But at the same time, it was kind of lucky timing. It was during my wedding and all that stuff, so it kind of worked out. Obviously not ideal, but now I'm back to 100 percent and glad that I got it over with.»

The Boston Bruins have had a hard time, especially in the third period, and Pastrnak has criticized the Bruins for this. Everyone is to blame though and personally pointing fingers is not what the Bruins need right now.
