Transaction: it would be confirmed for Elias Lindholm and the Boston Bruins
Elliotte Friedman has revealed news regarding Elias Lindholm that would confirm his fate with the Boston Bruins.
On his recent 32 Thoughts Podcast Elliotte Friedman has revealed what Elias Lindholm might be looking for if the Boston Bruins want to sign him in free agency.
Friedman reported that the Canucks are interested in giving Lindholm a 7-year $7 million contract, but doesn't think the will be enough to keep him around.
32 Thoughts Podcast: Not trade related but I found this interesting. Elliotte said he thinks Vancouver is willing to go in the 7x7 range with Elias Lindholm but he's not sure that's going to get it done. #Canucks #NHL
For someone who's career high in points is 82 and only had 44 last year this seems like a bit of an overpay.
The market is obviously going up with the cap hit going up, but for the Bruins to pay more than 7x7 for a player to put up 44 points, seems like they could find better options somewhere else.
The Bruins have been linked to Lindholm since the trade deadline, and a lot of rumours suggested the Bruins would go all in on him if he hit free agency, after these reports of him wanting a 7x7 or more it might be in their best interest to look somewhere else.
