It was confirmed earlier in the week that Jake Guentzel will more than likely not re-sign with the Carolina Hurricanes, and since that report has come out it looks like the Hurricanes are looking to trade the star winger.
Jake Guentzel was acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes at the NHL trade deadline from the Pittsburgh Penguins, which instantly made the Hurricanes a better team, but ultimately the team didn't have what it took and were knocked out by the New York Rangers in the second-round.
Guentzel doesn't seem interested in re-signing with the team, and Friedman reported that the team will try and trade his signing rights away.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Hurricanes are looking for a mid round pick, which isn't much for a multiple 40 goal scorer.
The Boston Bruins are looking for exactly what Jake Guentzel could bring to the team which is secondary scoring, in 74 games between the Penguins and Hurricanes this year he had 34 goals and 44 assists for 78 points. This is the exact player the Bruins are missing, Don Sweeney should be all in on Guentzel.
