Patrice Bergeron Gives New Bruins Forward Big Compliment
That is Tyler Johnson who has been wanting to play the next NHL season with a contender. He walked from the Chicago Blackhawks, to be on himself, and it looks like maybe it will pay off.
Johnson has only had 4 games with the Boston Bruins to try to prove that he's worth a contract.
He's played in four games, in those games he's shown up on the scoresheet twice with 2 points( 1 G, 1 A) and, 4 SOG during the preseason.
Since Johnson hasn't been sent to the AHL, nor has his PTO been ended it seems likely that GM Don Sweeney will have to find a way to give Johnson a contract.
And why not, he seems to have been a factor on ice and found ways to get shots on goal, which when you're in the preseason you have to make an impact and find a way to remain relevant and in the coaches and GM's head.
Now, it's a matter of hurry up and wait for Johnson to see if he will follow Danton Heinen's path where he would remain with the team and later sign a contract with the Bruins.
Johnson played 67 games with the Blackhawks last season, scoring 31 points( 17 G, 14 A) as a depth forward.
He wants to get back to playing postseason hockey, where he thrives and it looks like it could be a fit with the Bruins.
